Privacy Policy
Your data, your machine, your control. This policy explains how NexusDB protects that principle in practice.
1. Local-first by design
NexusDB is a desktop application that runs entirely on your machine. Your database connections, credentials, query history, and workspace files are stored locally on your computer. We do not run a hosted sync service, and we do not transmit your database data to NexusDB-controlled servers.
2. Credentials
Connection credentials are stored in your operating system's secure credential vault (macOS Keychain, Windows Credential Manager, or the Linux Secret Service). They never appear in plaintext on disk, and they are never read or transmitted by the NexusDB team.
3. Telemetry
NexusDB does not collect analytics, telemetry, or crash reports by default. If we ever add optional diagnostics in the future, the choice will be opt-in, clearly labeled, and revocable from the application settings.
4. Updates
The application may check for updates over the network. Update requests include only the current version string and your operating system identifier. No query data, content, or identifying information is included in update requests.
5. Third-party services
When you connect to a remote database, traffic flows directly between your machine and your database server using the credentials you provide. NexusDB acts as a local client only — it does not proxy, log, or relay your queries through any third-party service.
6. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the database servers you connect to, the credentials you store, and any data you choose to export, import, or share. NexusDB provides tooling; the surrounding data governance remains yours.
7. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date below and announce the change in the application release notes. Continued use of NexusDB after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
8. Contact
Questions about this policy can be sent to hello@nexusdb.dev. We review privacy inquiries personally and respond as quickly as possible.
